Welcome to Morton! Nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Morton offers a rural lifestyle in a relaxed setting. The city is noted for its scenic setting, mild climate, year-round recreation opportunities and close proximity to Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens.
Incorporated in 1913, Morton is located in the geographic center of Lewis County, Washington, 32 miles east of I-5 on US Hwy 12 on the White Pass Scenic Byway. Three major highways, The National Park Highway SR 7, State Route 508 and US Hwy 12 intersect at Morton. The City of Morton is the 3rd largest in Lewis County with a population of 1,126. The primary industries include: manufacturing, timber and forest products and tourism. Current Largest Employers are: Hampton Lumber Mill, and ALTA Forest Products and Arbor Health Hospital.

Weather
High temperatures in Morton range from 42 degrees in the winter to 78 degrees in summer. Low temperatures range from an average daily low of 30 degrees in the winter and 50 degrees in summer. 9-10 inches of precipitation fall from November – January, and only one inch of precipitation in July and August. 4-6 inches fall in the form of of snow December to February.
